The Sorella String Quartet
Lovers of chamber music, The Sorella String Quartet was formed in 2003 in Redwood City, California by four friends who wanted to play chamber music in a backyard studio surrounded by a beautiful garden. Soon, the quartet was playing for parties and for small recitals including the Burlingame Music Club, faculty recitals at Notre Dame de Namur University, (NDNU) and their own recitals at different venues
On April 9, 2006, as a fundraiser for NDNU, the quartet performed the world premiere of Greg Armbruster’s String Suite #2. (Dr. Armbruster is an alumni of NDNU and is currently the associate director of admissions at Bard College in NY). In the summer of 2008, the Sorella opened for the Shakespeare plays in the new downtown Redwood City Square.
